Loathe it or Love it? // Life in Lockdown

  -

What has lockdown been like for you? Perhaps something between loving and loathing, perhaps a bit of lovloathing?

Fortunately, for me, lockdown has been a lifeline, offering much needed lax periods of lounging on the couch, literally allowing lassitude to be overcome by:

Rest

Rest from stress

Stress from work

Work from home

Home for family

Family for friends

Friends for kindness

Kindness to all

All from one

One for all.

Time to tune in to the One who takes our troubles and turns trials to triumphs.

Time to tune out the telly, the traffic, the trade and the trolleys.

Time to rediscover the other, to connect with spouse, children, parents, neighbours, friends, sister, brother.

Time to discover new places and pathways right on my doorstep.

To walk, to talk,

To walk the talk.

This has been my experience and truth to tell…

… prior to lockdown my creativity had shutdown.

Now, I’m ready for fresh challenges and have one for you as you take time to discover your turf. A walk from my gate into Spencer Road, one block and one side of the road in, yielded the following trash, filling my bag in less than 10 minutes.

All of which can make its way into stormwater drains like this one near my house:

The Challenge

Starting tomorrow let’s pick up and ‘post’ pics on this page of our tidy up efforts in our areas, during week 4 of lockdown, so that New Zealanders can rightly claim to be ‘clean and green’.

Remember to wear gloves and get the kids involved.

Stay healthy, stay safe and be kind.

Blessings,

Debbie
