Stephen-RaewynStephen and Raewyn Pattemore have a background of overseas service in India (teaching at Hebron School 1979 – 1983) and in Thailand, working alongside Raewyn’s parents, David and Doreen Hogan, in church planting, pastoral care, Bible translation and literacy (1984 –1995).

Bible Society New Zealand

Stephen worked for the United Bible Societies (UBS) as a Translation Consultant from 2001 to 2011, training local people to translate the Scriptures in their own languages and supervising Bible translation projects in Papua New Guinea, Thailand, East Timor and New Zealand.  Since January 2012 he has been Translations Director for Bible Society in New Zealand. Stephen is the consultant for two main translation projects in New Zealand – the Tokelauan Bible and the initial stages of a new revision of the Maori Bible. He also continues to serve the Bible Societies in Papua New Guinea and Thailand as well with several projects in each place.  In addition he is involved with the global training programme of the UBS, and edits the UBS translation journal, The Bible Translator.
